4WD Field Trip: Ancient Lake Cahuilla

Leader: John Peterson, Hydrologist and Geologist This half-day field trip to the Salton Sea lets you look back in time at the remnants of the ancient lake, with an up-close look at the “bathtub ring” and fishing traps along the old shoreline. Maximum 15 participants. 4WD recommended. GP $12; M $10; V $8. Meet in the gravel parking lot across from ABDNHA, between Jilberto’s and The Mall.
