We actually run a meal program Tuesday nights and help connect people with resources. It's not advertised much but happy to tell you more about it @rkim.design
I'm so glad the diocese is still holding the traditional Saturday evening mass. In a world that's losing its values, this is something sacred we need to protect.
This thread is a mess. Mass is happening. If you don't want to go, don't go. @amir.sd.engineer maybe find a different city if you hate religion so much.

Saturday vigil is always beautiful at this time of year. See you all there!
Jamal Washington·
I'm new to the area - is this open to anyone or just for members?
Amir Karim·
@jamal.engineer Everyone's welcome! Come as you are. There's usually coffee after too.
Rachel Kim·
Genuine question - does this parish do anything for the houseless community? Or is it just Sunday obligations?
David Kimura·
@rkim.design That's a fair question. A lot of churches talk a big game but don't actually do much.

@amir.eats.sd Appreciate the work you're doing. Would be cool to see it promoted more widely though.

Not everyone shares your religion, tony. Some of us don't think faith should be at the center of everything in this community.
Anthony Deluca·
@amir.sd.engineer then maybe this event isn't for you? Nobody's forcing you to go. There's a reason we preserve these traditions.
Amir Rashid·
And there's a reason we moved toward secular spaces. Your 'traditions' have been used to exclude people for centuries. Keep it private.
James Chen·
Why does every single community event have to become a culture war? Can't we just let people do their thing?
Anthony Deluca·
@amir.sd.engineer YOU PEOPLE are trying to erase religion from public life. Well guess what? This is OUR community too and we're not disappearing.
Amir Rashid·
YOUR community? I've lived here longer than you buddy. And 'you people'—real classy. Shows exactly the kind of attitude we're dealing with.

I don't hate religion, I hate colonialism hiding behind a crucifix. And I'm not going anywhere—people like YOU should learn to share space.
Nicole Park·
Everyone in this thread needs to take a breath. Faith and secularism can coexist. There's room for both in a healthy community.
Anthony Deluca·
@amir.sd.engineer Stop telling people to leave their own community. Your intolerance masked as 'inclusion' is the real problem. PATHETIC.
Amir Rashid·
You're the one calling me intolerant? You literally said 'YOU PEOPLE.' That's not tolerance—that's contempt. This is why people don't feel safe here.
