Terms of use · Effective October 8, 2026

The deal between you and Fig.

These terms are a contract between you and Fig Social Inc. By creating an account or using Fig, you agree to them. We wrote them in plain English on purpose; where there’s a legal term we couldn’t avoid, we explain it.

The short version
  • You need to be 18+. We may change or pause features.
  • You own what you post. You give us a license to show it and, unless you opt out, to feature it in marketing.
  • Listings can be wrong. Check the details before you go.
  • Disputes go to arbitration, with a 30-day opt-out.
01

Who can use Fig

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. One account per person, under your real name. Businesses and organizers use a business account under these same terms plus the Business section below.

02

Your account

Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if it’s compromised. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Community guidelines.

03

What Fig is (and isn’t)

Fig organizes happenings for you. We don’t run the happenings, sell tickets, or guarantee they’ll happen as listed. Times change, things get cancelled. Check the details before you go.

Features may change, break or be removed. We’ll be straight with you when they do.

04

Your content

You own the photos, videos, comments, plans and messages you post. You give Fig a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce and adapt them to run and improve the service, and — for public content — to feature it in Fig marketing (for example, a moment on our website or app store page). You can turn marketing use off in Settings → Privacy at any time; we’ll stop new uses within 30 days.

Only post what you have the right to post. Don’t post other people’s photos without permission; anyone who appears in a moment can ask us to remove it, and we will.

We may remove content that breaks these terms or the Community guidelines.

05

Plans, chat and @fig

When you host a plan, you’re the host: you choose who’s invited and you’re responsible for it. Fig provides the tools, not the plan.

@fig in a chat is an assistant. It reads that thread only when you mention it, to make lists, run polls and keep track of who’s bringing what. It can be wrong; the group is the final word.

06

Location sharing

Friend location sharing is opt-in and only between mutual friends. Turn it on for a window you choose; turn it off any time. Don’t use it to track anyone who hasn’t chosen to share with you. Exact meetup spots for public plans are hidden until someone says Yes.

07

Paid features

Some features, such as Fig Scouts, are paid. Payments are handled by the store you got Fig from; cancel any time in your subscription settings, and the feature stays active through the end of the period you’ve paid for. Refunds follow that store’s policies. Paid features may change; if we remove something significant, we’ll tell you before you’re charged again.

08

Businesses and organizers

If your venue or event appears on Fig, it links back to you. With a free business account you can claim your listings, correct them, post your own, and host plans. If you want a listing removed, email legal@fig.social from a matching domain and we’ll take it down within 5 business days. We keep facts, not your writing: descriptions are written fresh and images are linked, not copied.

09

What you agree not to do

  • Harass, threaten, impersonate or deceive people.
  • Post content that’s illegal, sexual, hateful, or that violates someone’s rights.
  • Scrape, copy or resell Fig’s data or listings, or probe our systems.
  • Submit false happenings or false "Something’s off" reports.
  • Use Fig for commercial promotion outside a business account.
  • Create accounts for anyone under 18.
10

Fig’s content

The Fig name, mascot and app are ours. You may use Fig for personal, non-commercial use, and businesses may use it to manage their own listings. Listings themselves are facts and remain the responsibility of their original publishers.

11

Disclaimers

Fig is provided "as is". We don’t guarantee listings are accurate or that the service is uninterrupted. What happens at a happening — or between people who meet through Fig — is between you and them. Use judgment, meet in public, and tell us if something’s off.

12

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Fig Social Inc. isn’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for anything arising from these terms is limited to what you paid us in the past 12 months, or $100, whichever is greater. Some states don’t allow these limits; where they don’t, they don’t apply to you.

13

Disputes

If something goes wrong, email legal@fig.social first; most things get sorted in a conversation. If not, you and Fig agree to resolve disputes by binding individual arbitration under the AAA Consumer Rules, in San Diego County or by video, rather than in court or as part of a class action. Small-claims court is always available to either of us.

You can opt out of arbitration by emailing legal@fig.social within 30 days of creating your account with the words "arbitration opt-out".

These terms are governed by California law. Anything not sent to arbitration goes to the state or federal courts in San Diego County.

14

Ending things

You can delete your account any time in Settings. We can suspend or end accounts that break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content license for already-published marketing, disclaimers, liability limits, disputes) survive.

15

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we’ll give you notice in the app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Fig after that means you accept the new terms.
