Privacy and safety
Choose who sees your account, block or report someone, and tell us when a happening looks wrong.
Who sees what
- Your profile: new personal accounts are private. Only people you approve see your happenings, boards, likes and photos. You can switch to public in Edit profile. Business accounts are always public.
- What you're attending: anyone who can see your profile.
- Your location: only friends you pick, only while you're sharing (see Sharing your location).
- Chats: only the people in that chat.
- Comments on public happenings: anyone who can see the happening.
- Your 👎: only you.
Blocking someone
- Open their profile.
- Tap …, then Block.
They aren't told. Blocking works both ways: any follow between you is removed, and you won't see each other's profiles, happenings, comments, messages or shared location. To undo it, go to Settings → Blocked people and tap Unblock. Unblocking doesn't bring back follows.
Reporting someone
Report people who harass, spam or make you feel unsafe.
- A person: on their profile, tap …, then Report.
- A comment or a chat message: press and hold it, then tap Report.
Pick a reason (Spam, Harassment or bullying, Inappropriate content, Feels unsafe, or Something else) and add a note if you like. Fig staff review every report. If someone is in danger, contact local emergency services first.
When a happening looks wrong
Plans change: a new time, a different place, a cancellation. If something about a happening doesn't look right, tell us with the Something's off button on every happening.
- On the happening, tap Something's off.
- Pick what's wrong, like Wrong date or time, Cancelled or already over or Wrong photo.
- Add a note or what it should be, and send it.
We'll take a look and fix it. To report a happening that's offensive or spam, use Something's off → Inappropriate or spam. It's always worth checking the host's page before you go.
