Groups and chat
Make a group for the people you do things with, chat together, send happenings and make plans.
A group is for the people you do things with regularly: your pickup crew, your Friday couples, the family. Every group comes with its own chat.

Making a group
- Open the Chats tab and tap + New Group.
- Give it a name and an emoji.
- Choose Who can join?: Invite only, Request to join or Open to anyone.
- Invite people.
You're the group's host: only you can edit or delete it. You can make members admins to help invite people and approve requests, and turn on Only admins post for a group where members read and react but don't write.
Joining and leaving
- When you're invited, the invite waits in Chats. Accept or decline it.
- Groups that are Request to join or Open to anyone show on the host's profile. Tap Request to join or Join.
- You can leave a group any time. A host deletes the group instead.
The group's chat
Everyone in the group is in its chat. You can:
- send messages and react (double-tap for a quick ❤️),
- tap + to make a poll (2 to 6 options, with handy date picks for "Which day works?") or a shared list anyone can check off or add to,
- type @fig to ask Fig for help right in the chat: it can make a poll or a list, suggest up to 3 happenings near a place you name, or recap what you missed. Everyone in the chat sees its answer.
To quiet a busy group, open the chat's menu and tap Mute.
You can also message one person directly if either of you follows the other, or you're in a group together.
Sending a happening to a chat
- On a happening, tap Send.
- Pick people and groups (your recent chats come first, or search).
- Add a message if you like, then tap Send.
Each person gets it in their own chat with you, and each group in its group chat. Fig never makes a new group for it.
Making plans
On a group's page, tap + Make a Happen to start a plan already shared with that group. Everyone in the group can see it and answer Yes, Maybe or No. Each plan also has its own chat for the people who are in, where you can share details like where exactly to meet.
