Selling tickets
Add tickets to your happening, choose who pays the fee, and check people in at the door.
You can sell tickets, or give out free tickets, for any happening you host, as yourself or as an organization you run.
Before you start
To sell paid tickets, set up payouts first: see Getting paid. Free tickets work without it.
Adding tickets
- Open your happening and tap Tickets in the host's panel.
- Tap Add a kind of ticket.
-
Fill in:

- Name, like "General admission" or "Table of 8", and any details.
- Price: $0.50 or more, or make it a free ticket.
- Admits: how many people one ticket lets in. A table of 8 is one ticket that admits 8.
- Limit: how many can be sold for each date, or no limit.
- Per person: the most in one order (10 unless you change it).
- Who pays Fig's fee (below).
- Refunds: No refunds, Until 7 days before, or Until 24 hours before.
-
Save it.
A happening can have up to 10 kinds of tickets. Once some are sold, you can't change the price or how many it admits; add a new kind instead. Stop selling takes one off sale, and tickets already sold stay good.
Who pays the fee
Fig's fee is 7% (6% for verified nonprofits), at least 50¢ per payment. Card processing is included. You choose for each kind of ticket:
| Choice | Buyer pays for a $20 ticket | You get |
|---|---|---|
| You pay | $20.00 | $18.60 |
| Buyer pays | $21.40 | $20.00 |
People always see the price they'll pay.
How buying works
Buyers pick a date and how many, then pay in the app or on the website. They get one ticket per person, each with its own QR code, in Your tickets, and an emailed receipt.
Refunds
Buyers can refund themselves in Orders while your refund policy allows, as long as nobody in the order has checked in. If you cancel a happening, everyone with tickets for upcoming dates is refunded. Cancelling one date refunds that date's tickets.
At the door
- Open your happening and tap Check in.
-
Tap Scan and point the camera at each ticket's QR code, or search for a name and tap Check in.

Each ticket checks in once. On the website, scanning works in Chrome and on Android. Co-hosts can check people in too.
